Job Description: Mechanical Draftsman – Fire Fighting Systems Location: [Insert Location] Department: Design & Engineering Reports to: Design Manager / Project Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Required: 2–5 years in Fire Protection Drafting Job Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Draftsman with proven experience in preparing detailed drawings for firefighting systems used in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting tools, capable of developing layout plans, detailed sections, isometric drawings, and fabrication drawings as per NFPA, IS, and NBC standards. Key Responsibilities1. Drafting and Design Support- Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for firefighting systems including: - Fire hydrant & sprinkler layouts - Pump room general arrangement (GA) drawings - Piping layouts, sections & isometrics - Schematic diagrams and legends - Assist design engineers in converting conceptual designs into working drawings. 2. Technical Documentation- Generate detailed fabrication and installation drawings for site execution. - Maintain revision control for updated drawing sets. - Prepare as-built drawings post-installation. 3. Compliance & Standards- Ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with applicable standards (e.g., NFPA, IS 15105, IS 13039, NBC). - Incorporate feedback from consultants, project managers, and site engineers into final drawings. 4. Coordination & Collaboration- Coordinate with project engineers, procurement, and site execution teams. - Attend design review meetings as required and incorporate markups. Qualifications & Skills Education: • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Certificate in AutoCAD or related CAD software Experience: • Minimum 2 years of drafting experience in fire protection or MEP industry • Hands-on experience in preparing detailed drawings for: - Wet riser systems - Sprinkler & deluge systems - Pump houses and valve assemblies Software Proficiency: • AutoCAD (mandatory) • Revit MEP / Navisworks (preferred) • MS Office for documentation and schedules Soft Skills: • Attention to detail and technical accuracy • Ability to interpret specifications, BOQs, and engineering documents • Good communication and team coordination Preferred Knowledge• Familiarity with pressure loss calculations and pipe sizing • Exposure to fire alarm and suppression system integration drawings • Understanding of installation sequences and fabrication feasibility Why Join Us?
